Holidays got you in a fatty funk? Looking for ways to reduce your sugar intake but keep up the party atmosphere? Oh, do I have an option for you my friends!
We’ve recently learned that my husband needs to be more careful with his diet, specifically with sugar intakes, being that he has 2 diabetes and trust me, we don’t want it to get worse! Needles suck! To that end, we’ve made extraordinary efforts to manage his diet, but given our proclivities towards libation experimentation….. we’ve created this new concoction!
Not only have we removed the Baileys and Kahlua, from the standard Espresso martini, but we’ve added a fun new twist. At a restaurant, order 2 shots of espresso and add some cinnamon and sweetener. Stir that up and handed it back to the local bartender to use with their well vodka and have them shake it up good. The espresso component creates a beautiful foam head for the martini, the sugar sweetens it up and the cinnamon, well that does 2 things – flavors the drink AND cinnamon is a natural protect that helps the intake of sugars. Give this one a try, like we did last night, impress your friends and confuse your bartenders!
